Clark & Sons proves you need not venture into Glasgow city centre for a refined dining experience. Bearing all the hallmarks of a contemporary, chic dining room and cocktail bar, Clark & Sons boasts a suburban location that makes it all the more enchanting. Whilst open-planned and spacious, the interior also manages to be luxurious and comfortable, thanks to plush fabrics and carefully considered lighting – an appealing setting for a catch-up with friends. Most importantly, you’ll find a chic restaurant offering some of the finest locally sourced Scottish cuisine around, all at reasonable prices.

When my partner and I arrived on a typically busy weekday evening, gentle soul music set the mood. We parked ourselves at a secluded booth, perfect for a romantic meal for two. We found the menu varied, catering for all tastes, while promising flair and ingenuity. For seafood-lovers, the crab shells were crisp and meaty, while the selection of charcuterie meats, accompanied by locally sourced bread from Newlands Bakery, was a hearty start to our meal. To follow, my main of tenderly cooked Bourguignon ribs of beef were a melt-in-mouth delight – my partner’s soft goat’s cheese platter, meanwhile, was generously portioned and creamy.
