Café Ludovic brings together the charm and familiarity of a local eatery with a relaxed bohemian setting. Situated in the heart of Battlefield, the café is bright and spacious – the perfect spot for a relaxed late lunch. Upon entering, I was promptly seated in one of the comfortable window booths. It was refreshing to see such an array of dishes on the board and, after much deliberation, I opted for the carrot, chilli and coconut soup served with rustic bread – a choice I do not regret in the slightest. I followed this with a main course of traditional homemade fish and chips. The haddock was obviously extremely fresh and the home-cooked chips were a pleasant change from the frozen variety that is all too often served up in cafés. The quality on offer is fantastic and, with such affordable prices, it doesn’t take a genius to understand why this place is so popular.
