After opening in 2009, this authentic Greek eatery has progressively grown in popularity – and, once you visit and experience all Athena Greek Taverna has to offer for yourself, you will no doubt understand why. An unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction is evident at this lively establishment – the team are professional, courteous and knowledgeable but also extremely friendly, making any visit start off on a high.

The menu features a plethora of tempting authentic Greek dishes. Starters such as dolmades (vine leaves stuffed with minced lamb and rice) and spanakopita (spinach, goat’s cheese and shallots wrapped in delicate filo pastry) take your taste buds to Athens and back in matter of mouthfuls. An extensive variety of mains, including classic beef stifado, slow-cooked in red wine and shallots, and soutzoukakia – spicy Greek sausage with garlic and herbs – are on offer. Just as enticing are the souvlaki – tender grilled meat marinated in garlic, oregano, lemon juice and olive oil – and the meat-free options like the vegetable moussaka, bursting with fresh aubergines and creamy sauce.

Complete such an authentic evening with nutty baklava, which is irresistibly sticky and sweet. Whether you are already a lover of Greek cuisine, or looking to widen your culinary horizons, this is the restaurant for you.
