Swadesh
Indian and South Asian

Beauty, charm, diversity and depth. These are the words that best describe this exclusive Indian restaurant conveniently located in the very heart of Manchester. Swadesh's expert chefs use only the finest and freshest ingredients and many of the recipes have been handed down through generations, so guests can expect to experience the complex flavours and exotic spices used in authentic Indian cuisine. Classic starters on the menu include chicken tikka and lamb sheek kebab, and diners who would like to share with a friend can sample the delicious mixed grill. Vegetarians are also catered for with vegetable samosas, garlic mushrooms and a tasty vegetable platter for two. The team at Swadesh have worked in some of the finest establishments in the world and have created a vibrant menu that showcases culinary styles from all over India. Swadesh prides itself on offering something unique for its guests; nowhere is this more apparent than on the menu where, unusually for an Indian restaurant, you can find monkfish tikka and salmon tikka amongst the more classic dishes. Other popular dishes include a scrumptious nurjahani biryani and a lovely king prawn tikka masala. Available from 5pm until 7pm daily, Swadesh's 'happy hour' is very popular, and offers the diner appetisers, a starter, main course, rice and naan for just £8.90 per person. A buffet lunch is served daily from noon until 3pm (£6.90 for adults and £4.90 for children); this is regularly re-stocked with a wide selection of delicious dishes. They also have a unique 'park and eat' offer: whether you are dining in or taking away, you get up to three free hours underground parking between 6pm and 11pm when two people or more dine. Swadesh can be privately hired for meetings, corporate entertainment and celebrations, with room for up to 200 people. At Swadesh it is not only the welcoming atmosphere and fabulous dishes but the expert service and remarkable attention to detail that make it one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. You'll certainly want to return time and time again.
