Armenian Taverna & Restaurant
Middle Eastern and African

Manchester's Armenian Taverna is incredibly unassuming from the outside. But for those in the know, this hidden, subterranean gem is a fantastic location for a unique dining experience. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in a traditional Middle Eastern style, with Armenian murals and lettering on the walls. It is far removed from the hustle and bustle of Manchester's modern city centre, and comes very highly recommended; customers are always impressed by the warm, friendly atmosphere, the excellent service and, of course, the delicious food. The taverna's menu is Middle Eastern with a strong Armenian theme, although there's no need to worry if you haven't eaten Armenian food before - this is the restaurant to convert you. Starters include baba ghanoush, which sees grilled aubergine, chopped tomatoes, onions, parsley, lemon and olive oil melded together for a wonderfully fresh-tasting result. Familiar hummus, falafel and lamb kofta can also be found among the selection of starters, all executed to delicious effect at Armenian Taverna. Main courses range from kebabs made using choice meat and mixed grills, to seafood, goulash and omelettes. Banquet menus are available for group bookings, allowing diners to experience the breadth of flavours particular to the foods of Armenia.
