Surrounded by the authentic 18th-Century features that make up Edinburgh’s oldest street, Wedgwood the Restaurant enjoys a sense of exclusivity at the quieter Holyrood end of the Royal Mile. The restaurant has recently undergone a stunning renovation, adding to the special ambience of the dining room.

When Paul Wedgwood and fiancée Lisa Channon opened the restaurant in 2007, they aimed to create their own ideal night out in perfect surroundings – fine dining without pretentiousness. This, they have certainly achieved. In a considerably short time they have achieved a string of awards, such as the Rémy Martin VSOP Award for ‘Best Newcomer in the UK’ and being named one of the Daily Telegraph’s two best places to dine in Edinburgh. For the past two years the restaurant has been placed both in The Sunday Times’ ‘Top 10 Foodie Destinations in Scotland’ and awarded SLTN’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’. Wedgwood the Restaurant is also listed in the Michelin Guide.

Paul believes Scotland’s natural larder is one of the best in the world, so he uses locally sourced ingredients prepared in an imaginative style, incorporating flavours from around the world. The menu is full of interesting creations such as Paul’s confit of pork belly with West Coast diver-caught scallops in caul with curried potato, cauliflower fritters and spinach purée, and his prune and Armagnac custard with vanilla and chestnut ice cream
