I love this restaurant for the way it makes me feel every time I go in. Whether its for pizza before the theatre or for a romantic soiree, it sticks to its Mediterranean roots, with the food, decor and service making me reminisce about lazy days in the sunshine.
Centrally located, close to the Royal Museum, Royal Commonwealth Pool and directly opposite the Festival Theatre, Ti Amo is at the hub of it all. Whether at the start or end of your evening, Ti Amo will go a long way to making your outing memorable.
Decked out in striking Art Nouveau style, ornamental Roman statues, rich foliage, bright oranges, browns and reds, and wall art make for interesting aesthetic appeal. Ground floor dining offers a more intimate affair, but head downstairs, past the heart-shaped fish pond, and find an area perfect for meals with friends, colleagues or family. Italians never do things by halves, and at Ti Amo this ethos is certainly carried forth. Choose between 17 different pizzas, no less than 21 pasta dishes and five risotto choices. What is impressive, however, is that on top of all that choice, you'll also find a wide range of seafood and meat dishes. Stir-fried duck comes dressed in Ti Amo's special sauce, whilst chicken pizzaiola - chicken breast with onion, bay leaves, oregano and garlic - has a Barolo wine and tomato sauce. Lightly battered then deep-fried fresh squid and king prawns are served with a selection of potatoes and garden vegetables.
The wine list follows suit, with reds and whites to complement each and every meal. To finish, I always have the zabaglione (a dessert I can't resist, made with egg yolks, sugar, Marsala and cream) - a restaurant speciality. Bravo Ti Amo, you have my heart.
