Housed in a beautiful Victorian building, The Voodoo Rooms is quirky and elegant inside and out. There are five large rooms and three bars to choose from, all of which feature gorgeous wooden panelling, grand chandeliers, stylish gold chairs and chic leather sofas. This is a venue you could spend a whole evening exploring – you might begin, as we did, by eating a delicious meal in the dining room, before ordering some expertly made cocktails at one of the bars. The crusty bread with hummus, olive tapenade and red onion marmalade made for a delightful starter, while the 8oz Scottish rib-eye steak, with tomatoes, vegetable panache and steakhouse fries, was a hearty main course. The chocolate truffle torte for dessert was an absolute treat and acutely summed up our night at this award-winning venue – satisfying, fulfilling and moreish. We’ve already made plans to return and enjoy some live music in The Ballroom.
