The Ship on the Shore
There’s a seafood renaissance going on in Scotland, with Scots realising the world’s best seafood comes from their own coastline. The Ship on The Shore in Leith is leading this new era of Edinburgh enlightenment and presenting the best seafood (along with the best of everything else) in their waterfront restaurant. You can return to the days of understated elegance at this firmly established seafood haven – it’s one of the capital’s best places to enjoy the fishy, foodie, finer things in life.
As one of Leith’s established ‘places to be seen’, it attracts a wide clientele. During the summer months, there’s a lot going on, and their dockside outside seating area really comes into its own. Their regularly updated website shows that whether it’s a simple bowl of house Cullen Skink soup and a glass of sauvignon blanc or their amazing fruits de mer with everything in it, The Ship on The Shore is more than a seafood haven – it’s seafood heaven. With numerous wines available by the glass and a menu which allows you to snack or luxuriate, there’s something for all – including the famous Bloody Mary oyster shot. It’s clear that when adventure meets the finest quality, the result is something to savour.
The guys are now also on Twitter and their username – @weloveseafood – really sums up their approach. They like seafood and if you like seafood, you know where to go.
