The Atholl
You glide rather than walk through the entrance of The Howard – a five-star luxury hotel that radiates elegance and charm, thanks to its awe-inspiring Georgian architecture.
Whether your stay is based around relaxation or sightseeing, it’s made all the more enjoyable thanks to the outstanding, unobtrusive service offered in the 14-seater Atholl restaurant. This intimate dining room is run by French chef William Poncelet, whose impressive creations are delivered to the table in a steady flow of efficiency. Our starter of seared West Coast scallops on a bed of creamy celeriac purée was nothing less than divine, while the main of Loch Duart salmon with a zing of lemon beurre blanc and braised baby vegetables was similarly stunning. The popularity of The Atholl is destined to grow – this is fine dining at its very best.
