A relaxed ambience, friendly service, reasonable pricing and unique food have brought Chop Chop many accolades including an esteemed AA rosette, ‘Best Chinese Restaurant in Scotland’ in 2010, and an appearance on Gordon Ramsay’s F-Word.

Chop Chop is a unique restaurant serving north-eastern Chinese cuisine, which is very different from the Chinese dishes normally found in the UK. Even though food from this region is highly regarded in China, it is so far virtually unknown elsewhere. Dongbei (north-eastern) dishes are characterised by their freshness and simplicity, being made with liberal use of coriander, ginger or garlic with the flavour of the main ingredient prevailing over all else. No preservatives, additives, colourings or bought-in sauces are used. The style of serving at Chop Chop is ‘Chinese tapas’, giving the customer the opportunity to enjoy many taste sensations in one meal. Diners are encouraged to order collectively and share all the dishes, Chinese-style. This style of dining lends itself perfectly to group dining and Chop Chop regularly attracts groups of up to 20 sitting together, a great buzz being generated by the excited chatter of happy diners. The carefully selected wine list ranges up to just £17.50 and there is a selection of 14 beers from all over the world.
