Not only a fine Gujarati Indian restaurant in its own right, Ann Purna also caters for the palate of the vegetarian audience. With its tasteful decor and inviting frontage, everything about Ann Purna sparkles with quality. Located in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, in a little nook at the edge of the student centre, this is a calming retreat, set against the backdrop of the bustle of modern city life.

The reasonably priced food selection spans the gamut of vegetarian dishes; from the familiar pakoras to the delicious delicately fried patra, there is no shortage of delectable treats. For the main course, there’s an even more widely tuned selection, ranging from lentil-based kewtia dahl and saag paneer, to the excellent Ann Purna thali – a generous serving of various dishes, rounded off with a choice of fine wine, beer or homemade lassi.
