Cardiff
Truffles Restaurant
It is almost impossible to miss this bright and welcoming gem in the centre of Cardiff, conveniently located between Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium and St David’s Hall. And given its location, it is no surprise that the restaurant serves up such excellent traditional Welsh cuisine.
With wooden panels, station-waiting-room-style seating and huge glass mirrors, the restaurant has a lovely old-fashioned feel. Watch the world go by through huge windows, or enjoy your meal without leaving the city behind in the outside seating area. Truffles is the perfect spot for a quick morning coffee, a snack at lunchtime with colleagues or a relaxed three-course meal with good friends. Or, why not refuel after a night on the tiles with one of Truffles’ deliciously traditional cooked breakfasts – a feast that will have you satisfied until lunchtime, your plate piled high with bacon, sausage, fried egg, toast, hash browns, baked beans and tomato. If you’re not an early bird, don’t fear – it isn’t called an ‘all-day’ breakfast for nothing.
Truffles caters for diners with all tastes and dietary requirements, and families will be delighted with the children’s menu. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the National Theatre, Truffles is also the ideal option for a pre-show meal. A sister restaurant is due to open in Cardiff Bay in spring 2012 – another opportunity to experience Truffles for yourself.
