The superb Tempus at Tides Restaurant & Bar is situated within the famed St David’s Hotel & Spa. Wonderful views across Cardiff Bay are accompanied by the 1920s-style decor in softly muted tones and natural materials and a lovely alfresco dining terrace – unsurprisingly this is one of the city’s most in-demand spots during fine weather. With a strong focus on local produce, the Tempus at Tides menu offers a refined take on traditional British dining, offering comfort food, Welsh specialities and an array of oceanic-themed dishes reflecting the restaurant’s coastal location.
Executive chef Richard Yearnshire is imaginative and experienced, introducing some unexpected and exciting flavour combinations. The ethos at Tempus at Tides is to be ambassadors for the very best that Wales has to offer, with a strong focus on seasonality and showcasing the stars of Welsh produce. This is followed through with service that is attentive and yet unobtrusive. The restaurant has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere yet is formal enough to provide a true finedining experience.
Afternoon tea at Tempus is an experience not to miss, with a selection of ten to 12 of the finest Novus loose leaf tea served in antique, mismatched fine bone china with a variety of finger sandwiches, seasonal cakes and home-baked scones. You can also opt for a Champagne afternoon tea, which also includes a glass of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne. No expense has been spared to bring you the best of the best.
