Raglans restaurant with its wood panelled décor has an impressive air of traditional Britain.
Starters feature delights such as asparagus brûlée, rocket and truffle salad, and bruschetta of Carmarthen ham with roasted figs. The tian of Cornish crab with avocado guacamole was simply divine, especially when accompanied with the home made soda bread. My partner chose red mullet with olive tapanade, which was equally sumptuous.
Raglans prides itself on using only local and organic produce and this is clear from the taste and quality of the food.
My wild sea bass with vanilla and saffron risotto was unforgettably scrumptious, while my partner opted for tender roasted Welsh lamb with summer bean cassoulet for main.
The desserts are an intriguing blend of creations likely to tempt even the most health conscious of diners. A big fan of rhubarb, I chose the fruity sounding assiette of rhubarb, which was an artistic display of five mini desserts all with rhubarb as the base. The warm chocolate fondant filled with blue cheese was heavenly and ended our meal on a triumphant high note. The fine dining menu is £29.50 for two courses and £33.50 for three courses.
For quality, taste and presentation of cuisine, as well as service, Raglans really cannot be faulted. I for one will be back.
