Mezza Luna gave us not only a wonderful meal, but also a truly memorable experience. The decor is reminiscent of an Atlantis film set, the delicious food is cooked before your eyes in an open kitchen, the staff provide friendly and attentive service, and lively Middle Eastern music plays in the background. Add the excitement of a live belly dancer on Friday and Saturday nights and you have something truly special. No wonder they were turning people away on the night we visited – booking is understandably recommended on weekends.

My companion and I started with a mezze of hummus, falafel, smoked beef sausage, halloumi, spicy diced potatoes, tabouleh and spicy Lebanese salads. For mains, we chose another mouth-watering combination – lamb meshwi (chargrilled chunks of lamb), shish taouk (slices of marinated chicken) and lamb kofta (minced lamb with spices) – served on beds of rice with salad. It was all delicious, and we washed down our food with a fine bottle of fruity house red.

To finish we indulged in baklava, coffee and a cocktail and settled down to watch the enchanting dancer, who was occasionally joined by some of the more extrovert diners. This is simply a great place to celebrate with friends and family. Enjoyment is guaranteed at Mezza Luna.
