Fortune House is a busy Cantonese restaurant and take away situated in the heart of Cardiff's student area. Close to Cathays train station and the centre of Cardiff, the restaurant caters for all types of customers, from students to business groups.

The large building consists of a bar, reception area and take away downstairs (which includes delivery service), and restaurant and bar above with an adjoining separate room for a quieter dining experience. Five professionally trained chefs from China and Hong Kong provide an à la carte menu, or a set menu called Emperor's Choice, where you can order as many dishes as you like for £16.50 per person. Various set meals are on offer including a student set meal for £10.95 per person and a vegetarian menu.

From the à la carte menu, starters include tasty stuffed lettuce rolls and tender barbequed spare ribs. To follow you can choose a variety of main courses such as duck in plum sauce or fillet steak cantonese style - both full of flavour, reasonably priced and accompanied by a selection of rice and noodle dishes. Desserts, including ice cream and fritters are available as well as coffees and a substantial wine list.
