Gracefully housed in the Wales Millennium Centre, Brazz offers nothing less than first-class dining and an overall experience to be remembered. Its crisp, clean modern design with vast windows perfectly complements the fabulous views overlooking the bay. Sourcing much of their produce from local Welsh suppliers the chefs at Brazz offer something for everyone, from healthy options and plates for sharing or grazing, to a daily specials menu (two courses £12.95, three courses £15.95).

Whilst mulling over our options, chef offered us a taste of his traditional Welsh cawl; fantastically rich and tasty, it was the perfect warmer for a cold night. Onto the wealth of modern European plates, where the oak-smoked salmon with shallots and capers (£6.25) caught my eye. Equally satisfying was my all time favourite - prawn cocktail (£4.50). Exquisite gnocchi with tomato and aubergine fondue from the specials was only rivalled by grilled mullet on Mediterranean couscous (£11.25). And since I had no hope of resisting the white chocolate cheesecake (£5), I can report it to be the best I have tasted.

Our visit was on a blustery January evening, but the stacks of chairs outside let the imagination wonder to the coming warmer months when Brazz becomes the perfect alfresco option. For the atmosphere, excellent food and easy professional service, I will be visiting again very soon.
