Just outside the town of Cowbridge lies the village of Bonvilston, and central to its community is the Aubrey Arms. This is one of those sought-after pubs that manages to provide contemporary style alongside classic charm. Warmth exudes from its cosy windows, and inside you’ll find modern decor and superb food and drink. Meat eaters, fish lovers and vegetarians are all catered for on the menu. Local Welsh produce is evident throughout – only Celtic Pride Welsh beef is used in the steak dishes, fresh fish comes from Swansea and free-range eggs from Aberystwyth. Try the rib-eye steak with Béarnaise sauce and Maris Piper chips, or coq au vin with sautéed potatoes and green beans. Salads, burgers and sandwiches are included too, so you’ll find something to suit any occasion. The wine list features choices from around the world, and there are Cask Marque-approved ales behind the bar. Don’t miss out on this Welsh treat.
