Nestled near the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons, on a quiet northern Clydach road lies an establishment serving fine cuisine along with great hearty bar meals. The Drum and Monkey, a historical and recently refurbished restaurant and public free house, is of spirited character, injected with vitality by new management team, Steve and Dawn. Live music takes to the stage on most weekends and the menu is constantly evolving.

Dine under the alluring arches of the interior, or relax within the traditional and welcoming bar where there is a full flow of real ales along with ever-changing guest ales. The à la carte menu currently boasts tantalising choices such as griddled goat's cheese wrapped in Parma ham with honey and mango salad to start, followed by peppered duck breast with orange and green peppercorn sauce, and there's a comprehensive wine list to complement all options. If you can find room for that all-important dessert you will be tempted by every one of the fresh and homemade offerings. As well as a range of evening meals, The Drum and Monkey also offers Sunday roasts - a good choice if returning from a morning walk in the country or simply for a catch-up with family during the week. As befits a rural setting, The Drum and Monkey has an outside terraced area and welcomes well-behaved children and dogs.
